33/100 - Currently reading...
“I wish I could write every day, but I don’t. When it goes well, I ignore things like family and hygiene, but other days, when it’s not going well, I read the books I love to remind myself of how beautiful and essential and nurturing words can be, and I hope that doing that will bring my own words back.” - Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (Wall Street Journal)
32/100 - Incredible music video (Son Lux - Change is Everything)
I can't stop watching this music video. It's made of push pins, string, rotoscoping and a lot of patience. The end result is incredible.
And... because I always love to watch a behind-the-scenes or making-of video... here's how they made this video. It is impressive. One of my favorite parts is when it zooms out from the tv. That shot also looks like it was one of the most difficult. Nathan Johnson's poor fingers... but job well-done!
31/100 - The 100th birthday of Orson Welles
The Hollywood Theater screened a couple of Orson Welles movies in honor of what would have been his 100th birthday. A $5 ticket for Citizen Kane.
It's been awhile since I've seen Citizen Kane, I forgot how funny some of the lines are. The hall of mirrors shot is still one of my favoriteS.
"I passionately hate the idea of being with it; I think an artist has always to be out of step with his time." - Orson Welles

30/100 - On the "to read" list
I'm really looking forward to Mindy Kaling's new book. She revealed the cover today. I loved the first book. Her writing is always hilarious and her old blog, Things I've Bought That I Love, was always fun.
29/100 - Sound design in Avengers: Age of Ultron
SPOILERS IN THE VIDEO
I am a big fan of "making-of" videos. I always watch these videos from SoundWorks Collection. They describe the whole process of designing the sound for a variety of movies. The latest one is for Avengers: Age of Ultron.
There is so much action in this movie. It is incredible to hear about how they layered and created all of the sound effects. I especially like the portion of this video that talks about creating the sound of Ultron.
SoundWorks Collection also did the sound for Godzilla, Interstellar, Man of Steel and Gravity. I always think it is a lot of fun to read about and watch how movies are made and the collaborative effort that goes into the final product.
