I love watching the videos NASA posts on Youtube. Now, NASA is uploading these super high quality videos from space. Incredible to think that we can just watch outer space on our smartphones.
75/100 - Business as Art
It has been awhile since I've attended a Creative Mornings event and it was so nice attend the most recent one. Jennifer Armbrust gave a great talk on Business as Art. I'm definitely looking forward to the video being posted online so that I can re-watch the talk.
Armbrust's business is really interesting. She makes things and advises. I like the fact that she combined her skills to create business that's custom-made and unique to her.
Some quotes and questions said during the talk?
You are never not supported.
If you ask the question, you will get the answer eventually.
Can I survive as an artist with my personal and creative integrity intact?
Can I get paid to think?
Would it be alright with me if my life got easier?
Anything you don't know, you will learn in the process.

73/100 - How stories last
A lovely lecture by Neil Gaiman about how stories last.
“The act of reading a story or listening to a story is the act of knowing you are being lied to, but its a true thing. You have walked with the people in the story. You’ve looked out through their eyes. You know what they believe. You walk with them, and by walking with them you have left your own reality and entered theirs.”
“Information in a story is something that you can access as real information. You can access it as if you have experienced it. You can use it and then you can pass it on.”
72/100 - John Waters: "outrage outdated critics"
"A career in the arts is like a hitchhiking trip, all you need is one person to say 'get in' and off you go... and then the confidence begins."
"You must participate in the creative world you want to be a part of."
"Keep up with what's causing chaos in your own field."
'Watch every movie that gets a negative review in the New York Times and figure out what the director did wrong."
"Read. Read. Read. Watch people on the street. Spy. Be nosy. Eavesdrop."
"Humor is always the best defense and weapon."
"Go out in the world and fuck it up beautifully. Design clothes so ugly they can't be worn ironically. Horrify us with new ideas. Outrage the outdated critics."
71/100 - Now watching: Sense8
One moment links 8 minds in disparate parts of the world, putting 8 strangers in each other's lives, each other's secrets, and in terrible danger.
I'm currently watching the new Netflix show, Sense8. I'm about halfway through the season and I'm really liking the premise and the execution. At times, I think it is trying to do a lot, but that is working for me. I'd like to see it move a bit faster, but at the same time it is telling a big story filled with diverse characters with rich background stories. I'm definitely enjoying the diverse cast too. That's what I really like about the Netflix, Hulu, Youtube and Amazon style of storytelling/tv production... they seem to be more willing to take the leap and do something different and invest in different voices.
Are you watching Sense8? What do you think of the show?

I love this because how we get tv is changing and not all tv is adapting quick enough. How kids don't "get" tv and never will
